Relax and allow your mind to decide. Using what we have learned about the body and feelings, we look at techniques to achieve the outcomes we want.

 

This is key because while we have discovered that feelings are important, we have also discovered that  intense emotions overpower the mind as the body drives action (and too often panic).

 

So In the chapter: Self Empowered (of the EQ Coaching App) we provide a range of 'Items' or techniques building on the first 8 chapter ) for you to place in your Self-Empowered 'resource box'

 

In the same way we will continue to explore step by step, with Topic 2 exploring how we can use our minds to manage emotions, and Topic 3 how we can use feelings to co

Here are a few basic techniques you can explore to help you calm your emotions enough for you to engage your mind and act intentionally.

Mastering the breath control techniques is best achieved by practicing every day so that you are skilled enough to use it  to ease stressful or discomforting situations.

 

The goal: learn how to deal with distractions and stress without having an overwhelming emotionally stimulating physiological response.

Empower :  in Topic 1 takes you step by step through exercises you should practice every day. Choose the techniques that are right for you. and build up you emotional workout routine.

 

Choose which ones want you put in your resource box,  and help your child make their own. In this way you will be empowered and will help them to feel that way too
